Our principal owner, Gregg Sewell, is a composer of sacred music with over 1700 commercially published pieces to his credit. Sewell also serves The Lorenz Corporation (a multinational publisher of sacred and educational music) as a music editor and a creative consultant. In 1998, Sewell was asked to head the company's prepress operations. This positions EditWorks uniquely in the field of music engravers as a place where the needs of composers, music editors, and publishers are understood and met with the highest level of quality and efficiency.

EditWorks is recognized throughout the music publishing industry for achieving the look of classical engraving quickly and efficiently, due primarily to our choice of Graphire Music Press as our main music typesetting system.

Music Press works. As a prepress manager, I depend on Music Press to generate usable files quickly and reliably. As a typesetter, I count on Music Press for accuracy and flexibility. And as a composer, Music Press is the only tool I've found that gives me the freedom to execute any idea that comes to me. As a full time music typesetter serving a number of major music publishers, I'm forced to consider the efficiency of a music processor above all else. High quality results are also quite important to me, but client deadlines don't leave room for the luxury of spending a lot of time finessing a piece of music. Graphire Music Press makes it possible for me to produce work efficiently, giving me the tools required for the most demanding type of music typesetting work, yet making these tools accessible. I have a hard time imagining how I'd carry my current workload without Music Press.
